BTS Junior League City Championships

Beat the Streets held its 2017 Junior League City Championships today, bringing the future of NYC wrestling together to compete for bragging rights as best middle school program in New York City. The Bronx claimed gold as Eagle Academy narrowly edged Monsignor Farrell of Staten Island to take home top team honors on the boys end. David A. Boody of Brooklyn came in third place. Inwood Academy of Manhattan cruised to a city championship on the girls end, followed shortly by Tyrone Webb and his crew from MS 129. Up and coming Robert Van Wyck of Queens, headed by Meyer Calvo and Antoine Bernardin, brought in bronze team honors in the girls division.

Overall, Beat the Streets served nearly 1,000 youth wrestlers this season and nearly 300 student-athletes competed in the Junior League City Championship this year.
