It will be a battle between Brooklyn and Staten Island down the stretch of the Boys PSAL Dual Championships. The two boroughs have notoriously out out strong teams, and this year is no different. #1 Tottenville rolled past fellow Staten Island program Susan Wagner 69-10 to secure themselves in the semifinals. The Pirates have been dominant all season, and look forward to keeping the train rolling. Grand Street won a decisive 53-25 victory over Midwood, and will be ready for a rematch with Tottenville. Take a look at our preview leading up to the last time these two were set to face off. On the bottom half of the bracket, James Madison just couldn’t keep up with returning city champions Brooklyn Tech. The Engineers clinched a spot in next Tuesday’s semifinals with a 51-32 victory over the Knights. Be on the lookout for Madison in the near future as they have a deep team filled of mostly underclassmen. If Tech wants another shot at city gold, they first have to get through a talented Petrides team. Dave Olah and Petrides flexed their muscle on Brooklyn’s New Utrecht 61-18. New Utrecht standout, Pedro Cruz did not compete in the dual. Dual action picks back up next week on Tuesday, February 13th with the semifinals. Finals will occur on Thursday, February 15th.
